Work at home scam operation. I received a text offering a work at home job for a restaurant reviewer, and this contact number was provided. After researching online the language in the text message, I discovered that this was a popular scam. Often times, the name of the company and the job description are changed, but the scam is always the same. Applicants interview through telegram or teams, take a short test, and told they are hired. They are then told they will be sent a check to purchase equipment through one of their vendors needed for the work at home job. Many victims provide their bank account info, Social Security number, and even signatures. Some victims proceeded to order from the website they were referred to, only to discover later that the check they deposited in their bank was fraudulent, and the items they purchased never arrive.
