Romance scammer attempting to extort money from people

This is a scam number falsely advising that I need to authorize a $1499 charge on my Amazon account for an Apple iPad. They want you to call back so that they can cajole you into identifying your credit card information for a refund. Then, they will use that information to steal from you.

Received a phone call from (401) 589-9839. We are on the do not call list. They called our land line phone with AT&T. I wonder if these calls are from AT&T or a subsidiary that WANTS you to call their phone number. We do not have a long distance agreement with AT&T. The call is disconnected as soon as I say hello. I wonder if this is a way for the phone company to get more revenue by "forcing" people to call back on a phone line that would profit them. I also resent the calls based on the fact that whatever company it is, they are able to write-off these calls as business expenses which means they do not pay taxes on these "expenses" but forces the U.S. taxpyer to pay the taxes they should be paying.....can you say, "automatic write-off and making money by fraudulent means?"

(401) 589-9839 keep calling!!! One day they say I owe $204, and said I can pay by phone. when I ask them the name of the company they gave some shady response! Then some other time they called it was about some alarm company. The last call I received said I won $250 in gas card but i have to pay for shipping to get them! STOP CALLING!!!!!!!

They call 2-4 times a week & just hang up, I'm on the do not call list, what to do now?

This number calls at least 3-5 x a week. I answer no one responds. I have stoppped aswering, it is still annoying. I am on a DO NOT CALL LIST!!

calls my house, but nobody on the line. when you call the number back, you never reach anyone except a recorded message that says "i'll try to connect you" and then a fast busy.

This phone number calls my home repeatedly and does not answer when I pick up. They call at least once a day and sometimes more often. When I try to call back to tell them to stop calling, I can't get thru, all I get is a recording "I'll try to onnect you" and then just a fast busy signal..

This number came up on my land line with caller id. They keep calling every other night and during the day. They never leave a message or say anything if you happen to pick up the line. What can be done about this?
