Scammer and wont stop texting me

I received an immediate response from 405-283-2489 after I posted my wedding dress for sale on craigslist. Everything seemed a little "weird" from the beginning. "Ms. Eduardo" was buying the dress for her daughter and wanted to overnight me the check (supposed to be $250 for the dress). She sent a check for $1,990.00 and wanted me to put the money into my bank account until the check cleared. The account name on the check was "Tamara J. Lewis" from Texas City, TX. The package was mailed from Anaheim, CA, and the company that sent the check was from New York City area. I was really confused, but I figured as long as the check cashed, then it was okay. Then I was supposed to withdraw the extra $1,740.00 for the "wedding planner" when she picked up the dress. She did not want me to give her cash, but to deposit it into her Wells Fargo bank account. She actually gave me the name "Merry Holmes" as well as the account # and routing #. I did that and was waiting for the wedding planner to contact me for the pickup. Then I received a text today saying that the sale was off because the groom was in an accident in Africa where he sustained a spinal cord injury. She said that I could keep $50 for the inconvenience, but I needed to Western Union the $200 to the "native doctor" in Africa. I finally realized what a load of crap I was being fed. I told her that the sale was final and I would be happy to mail her the dress if she would provide me with her name and mailing address. I also threw in a bunch of legal vocabulary and referred her to my legal counsel (my husband) for further communication. When all was said and done, I actually was able to get the $250 for my dress and keep my dress to sell again! A headache and a lot of hassle were the only bad things that came out of this. Thank you to everyone who posted their experiences. Hopefully we can stop these people from victimizing anyone else!

I'm on a no-call list both state and national and yet they called my place of employment. When I answered they hung up.
