Scam! DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO UNTIL YOU DO THE FOLLOWING!!: Once the card holder has written off the unpaid debt as a loss, that info is often placed in a portfolio with other debt losses and sold to agencies at little to no cost. These Scam companies try to make money collecting reduced debt payoff amounts with debtor. Before paying anything always demand evidence of debt from collector in form of copy of original loan contract. If you hear nothing, submit a letter to credit report agency challenging the debt listing. They must follow this with request to creditor for proof of negative credit listing. If creditor has already written off debt then no proof will follow request and credit agency then MUST remove negative report from credit report file. This one way to improve negative credit score. ONCE THE ORIGINAL COMPANY CLAIMS THE DEBT AS A LOSS, NO OTHER PERSON/COMPANY/ROBOT CAN CLAIM THAT DEBT TO BE PAID.
