(805) 710 in Arroyo Grande, CA

Man by the name of Alex Coleman called me 3 times from the above number. Claimed he was with AMEX and that he had noticed some fraudulent activity and that I needed to call back. First - AMEX doesnt have an 805 prefix. Second - I called back and Alex answered - not the AMEX fraud department. Another red flag. I asked him if he was Alex Coleman and he said yes. I then said I had received three calls from him claiming to be from AMEX. He told me that unusual activity had been noticed - most likely fraud. I asked him what it was. He said something in Ft. Wayne Ind for $170 but no other details. I asked him for the date and asked him to recite my credit card number. He then said - who am I speaking too? RED FLAG number 3. I chuckled and said - you are a F.. scammer. He claimed I was about to lose my card if I didnt respond to him - as I hung up. Anything from 805 is a scam.

Scam trying to get banking information

Called claiming to be with Wells Fargo Bank. Total SCAM!

Received text posing as Wells Fargo Security. Asked if i had attempted a transaction @ Target #72 for $388.61. Reply yes or no. I responded No. Another text appeared saying a call would be sent shortly for security purposes. During the call i was asked to pull up my online WF account and check the last two purchases and were those authorized. I asked how i know this is really WF and he gave me his name and a number. Asked me if a specific name was on my account and i told him no i didn't recognize that name. At that point i told him i was not comfortable going any further with this conversation and for my peace of mind i would call Well Fargo directly myself. He hung up immediately.

Claimed to be Wells Fargo Bank regarding a potential debit card expense that was fraudulent. Used names, bank ID numbers, claim numbers and had access to bank accounts wanting us to move money into a single account, claiming fraudulent activity with other accounts. Contacted Wells Fargo, no fraudulent activity reported on debit card or on bank accounts; Scam trying to get money.

Received a text asking if I had made a $233.31 purchase from Target. I replied "no." They asked to contact me and did the following day. They said someone had opened a debit card in my name and was trying to use it, but that their dept. stopped the purchase. They said they needed to close with the attempt to open a debit card. They wanted me to go to my local bank and physically withdraw all money in the account and then deposit it back into a new account with a new number which they would provide via phone at the branch. Very insistent I go to the branch with 5-10 minutes. I hung up called Chase Fraud and they confirmed I had no debit cards nor has anyone tried to open one. Also no unusual charges on any of the accounts. Pretty good scam....be careful.
