Got a text that said "please text me" with no other identifying info. Kinda creepy.

The person with this phone number in New London County CT presented himself as a vet of the US air Force over 20 years he said he served in the middle East and he just came back to the United States four months ago he identified himself as a chemist working I believe through electric boat in Groton Connecticut I'm thinking a private contractor also he he would fish a lot fisherman and try to sell fish he said that he had fallen upon hard times and was in a definite by because of the coronavirus and not having access to any funds he had an emergency and needed help he said he had $1,000 check that was deposited but because everything shutting down with the coronavirus it hadn't cleared he asked me for a loan which I was very hesitant and normally would not do what at this point with the coronavirus people being out of work and business is closing and him telling me he was a vet for over 20 years I decided to try to help this man which identify himself as William Pierce which is a false name who stated he was staying in a spring suites hotel in New London Connecticut upon me lending this money to him which was supposed to be returned back in the next couple of days he was unreachable would not return phone calls would not return text and this is a gentleman who had been contacting me on several occasions and I have met with on several occasions beware this is a scam artist who told me he owned properties up and down the east coast and investment properties in the west coast he said he owned the house on division Street in Norwich which he was remodeling but that it continually was being broken into and he had to board it up and he said he was putting it on the market he say somewhere in Groton at this moment he I believe is from Virginia his he has a red vehicle with Virginia license plate and this phone number is a Virginia phone number he claimed to be 59 years old which most likely is a lie he claimed to be a mason he also claimed to volunteer his time quite a bit with United way and be part of the Cam Newton foundation all this I think is a big scam so people please beware he's scamming and praying upon innocent women for money and has several stories concocted I have not been able to get my money back that was my last and me being out of work I made the biggest mistake of thinking I was helping up a military vet who was in dire need with no family in this area as he told me and was able to pay my money back to me once the check had cleared which was obviously bogus and he said his bank was the Navy Federal credit Union or Navy exchange Bank or something like that in Groton Connecticut
