This person claimed to be a veterinarian, and claimed that he had our lost cat and that the cat was hit by a car and was in critical condition and we needed to pay him $1200 to have surgery. And if we didnt pay immediately, they were gonna euthanize the cat. We had posted our lost cat on an app called PawBoost and I gave my phone number, so it was easy for this individual to gather my information and have details of the cat because there was a picture posted. they also most likely knew the town I lived in and did a little research to come up with local veterinarian hospitals. He claimed to be associated with one of those hospitals. I called the police and we went to the hospital and he wasnt there. They werent open. And also the phone number is from Florida. This isnt the phone number he used to call me the number he used the caller ID was blocked, but he gave me his phone number to call him back.
